Mildred Louise McWhorter

Nov. 25, 1924 ~ Feb. 25, 2004

Louise was born in Lamar, Oklahoma and came to Bakersfield in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; son, Phillip Ray; mother, Mary; father, Charlie; brother, Alfred; sister, Ora and her brother-in-law, Bob. She is survived by son, Les and wife, Teri; grandsons, Robbie, Scott and wife, Tina; great grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, Jori, Andrew, Tinley and the new arrival of great great grandson, Jeffery born on February 24, 2004; sisters, Geneva, Betty and husband, Charles and numerous other loving relatives.

Lou was a member of Valley Baptist Church for many years. She was active in the Character Class and enjoyed Dale's sense of teaching trememdously. She made numerous friends through church. People who knew her best know what a strong and determined woman she was. She worked many years as a waitress and as a bookkeeper for her son's company, L&L Construction.

Viewing will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 29th. Services will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church with graveside to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Scott McWhorter, Cody Hammons, Jushua Hufft, Robert Jansson, Jason Hufft and Jared Turner.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Gambro Healthcare, Mickey and Judy at Odyssey Hospice and all the family and friends who have helped us through our time of loss.
