Dianna Lee “Diane” (Shields) McMillan

Dianna Lee “Diane” (Shields) McMillan
March 18, 1960 - January 30, 2023

Dianna “Diane” Lee McMillan was born March 18, 1960 to Ralph and Winnifred Shields in Stroud, Oklahoma. She departed this life January 30, 2023, at the age of 62.

Diane was a 1978 graduate of Stroud High School. On May 16, 1980, Diane Shields and George McMillan were united in marriage. From this union were born three children, Samantha, Shirley, and Johnathan.

She was a member of the Bristow First Church of God. She loved her church and was involved with the group that cooked meals for those in need.

She loved to cook. Her house was considered a safe place. No matter if it was her children’s friends, or teenagers that were intoxicated and need a place to sleep it off, she was always there to help. She also loved to do crafts and gardening. Diane loved fresh cut lawn sometimes to the detriment of the lawn mower. She loved her brothers and sisters and of course her grandbabies. The world evolved around them. Her maternal instincts were not only gifted to her children and grandchildren but also to her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of forty-two years; three children, Samantha Diana Hancock and husband Jay, Shirley Marie Gower and husband Daniel, and Johnathan Edwin Mims McMillan and wife Holly; two brothers, Mike Shields and wife Barbra, and Leslie Shields; two sisters, Sue May and spouse, Mike Clark, Anita Vandevar and husband Mike; six grandchildren, Daisy Marie Gower, Maggie LeeMae Gower, Zoey Divine Gower, Ellie Mae Gower, Reed Edwin Mims McMillan, and Sawyer Thomas Ekadal McMillan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
