Lana Joe (Morris) McMath

Lana Joe (Morris) McMath
May 31, 1945 ~ March 8, 2020 (age 74)

Lana Joe (Morris) McMath left her earthly home on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Allliance Health in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 6 days. Lana was born on May 31, 1945 in Roswell, NM to the late Mitchell Morris and Vesta (Sinclair) Morris. She spent all of her childhood in Roswell and later graduated from high school there.

Lana worked as a Nurse's Assistant for 35 years beforing retiring. Most of those years were spent working at the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell. She moved to Tishomingo, Ok in 2007 to be closer to her daughter, Jacqueline, who was expecting a baby at that time. Lana's daughter, Nanette soon followed her to Tishomingo and they made this their home until her death.

Lana was of the Baptist faith. She loved her cats very much. At the time of her passing she had only one cat but at one time, she was known to have 34 outside cats. It is safe to say she definitely had a love for cats. She also loved her flowers and gardening. She didn't have a favorite flower because she loved them all and always had flowers planted outside her house for everyone to enjoy. Lana enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, along with two brothers, Tommy Morris, and Phillip Morris.

She is survived by daughters, Nanette McMath of Tishomingo and Jacqueline Townsend of Tishomingo; two grandsons, Tanner Devon Travelstand of Roswell, NM, and Tyler Michael Townsend of Milburn, OK; and the father of her daughters, Jack McMath.

There are currently no services scheduled. The family will have a private service at a later date in Roswell, NM.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home. Online condolences may made at tishomingofuneralhome.com.
