Gregory Keith “Greg” McLaughlin, 60, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his home in McAlester.
He was born January 22, 1959 in Gainesville, Texas, the son of Willis Leroy “Bear” McLaughlin and Mable Marie Buchanan McLaughlin.
Greg was a graduate of the Thackerville High School Class of 1977. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan and Dallas Cowboy fan. He also loved riding his Harley bike. He had worked in the oil field and did construction work for various companies.
Greg and Dawn James were married March 15, 2001 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They lived all of their married life in McAlester.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn McLaughlin of the home; daughter, Breeze McLaughlin; sons, Trent McLaughlin, Ryan Klement and Casey Klement; stepdaughter, Alexa Welch and husband Curtis; stepson, Derrick James; three granddaughters; brothers, Leroy McLaughlin and wife Walsie of Wynnewood, Dwight McLaughlin and wife Marsha of Sherman, Texas, and Gary McLaughlin and wife Sherry of Valley View, Texas; sisters, Brenda Dean and husband Bobby and Debra Dedek and husband Steve, all of Marietta, and Cyndy Green of Burneyville; cousin, Junior McLaughlin and wife Debbie of Thackerville; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece, Stacie Llano of Gainesville, who considered Greg her big brother; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Per Greg’s request, no service is planned. The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
