Donald Ray "Don" McGuire

Donald Ray "Don" McGuire, 84, of Bella Vista, Arkansas saw Jesus' face Monday, January 11, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born August 4, 1931 in the community of Tuxedo near Bartlesville, Oklahoma. His parents were Walter Lee and Ethel Lorine (Hunt) McGuire. At the age of 7 his father passed away and later his mother remarried Roy G. Pierce, stepfather. Don attended grade school at Copan and Pleasant Valley (near Oglesby, Oklahoma). He graduated high school at Ramona, Oklahoma. He later attended Bartlesville Business College for two years.

Don worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma from June 1949 to November 1950. He married Nadean Howell on August 4, 1950, at Claremore, Oklahoma. In November 1950 he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company until he retired in June 1986, at the age of 54. He worked in Bartlesville his entire career except for a period from February 1972 through July 1974, where he was Chief Buyer in London, England.

Don has a loving family that will miss him dearly; his wife, of 65 years, Nadean, two sons; Don and his wife Kathleen McGuire, of Bella Vista, Terry McGuire and his wife Janeen, of Eureka Springs, one daughter; Elizabeth and her husband Joe Willis, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nine grandkids, five great-grandkids, and four great-great-grandkids.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, his brother; David McGuire, four step-brothers, and one step-sister.

Don has helped coordinate and work on 30 various projects all over the United States and Kobe, Japan. He worked numerous hours in the Assemblies of God Maps RV Program, building and remodeling churches, Teen Challenge Centers, and colleges. The legacy that Don has left for his family is a challenge to be all God has created us to be and to serve God with all our hearts!

Visitation will be Friday from 1-2pm at Bella Vista Assembly of God Church.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2pm at Bella Vista Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Bella Vista Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Teen Challenge Boy's Ranch in Morrow, Arkansas.
