Marilyn Hudson McGlamery
December 02, 1934 ~ June 28, 2018

Marilyn Hudson McGlamery, 83, of Suffolk, VA died June 28, 2018. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 54 years, Marshal, her parents, Fred and Ellen her brother, Keith, and her baby daughter, Mary Jo. 

She was a native of Oklahoma, graduating from Mooreland High School and Oklahoma State University, with a Masters from University of Illinois. She was an elementary school teacher for about 30 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and mostly Illnois, where she lived for 48 years before moving to Virginia 9 years ago. She and her husband were faithful members of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in Urbana, Illinois, where she served as in interpreter for the deaf for dozens of years. 

She is survived by her brother Jim (Nancy) of Enid, her two sons Paul (Rebecca) of Suffolk, VA and Steve (Kim) of Christiansburg, VA, and four grandchildren: Ellie, Anna, Rachel and Jacob. 

A memorial service will be held in Enid Oklahoma, at 11:00am Monday July 9th at New Hope United Methodist Church 614 N Garland Rd. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 600 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Urbana, IL 61801.
