Eddy Jane McElvany
November 17, 1949 ~ March 28, 2020

Eddy Jane McElvany was born on November 17, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK to Clarence Edward (Ed) McElvany and Evelyn Jane Barnwell McElvany. She attended John Marshall High School, graduating in 1968 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Oklahoma State University. She worked in sales at a furniture store before working at her family’s business, Mayfair Cleaners, for over forty years with her parents and brother. Later in life she worked at Chico’s in Penn Square Mall selling women’s clothes.

Eddy married Jim Genthe on August 23, 1984. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Eddy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Steve McElvany; niece Sarah (Justin) Blankenship; nephew, Benjamin Blankenship and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 1-7pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany.
