Dennis Gerald McElroy
July 21, 1947 ~ January 16, 2018

Dennis Gerald McElroy, 70, of Blanchard, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at his home. The son of Arthur Oscar McElroy and Helen Louise (Sanders) McElroy, he was born July 21, 1947 in Snyder, Oklahoma.

Dennis was Baptist in faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart Award and the Bronze Star Medal. He worked as a Logistics Technician Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 2003. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and deer hunting. Dennis loved to drive fast and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dennis is survived by his fiancée, Sharon Dare, of Blanchard; two sons, David McElroy and his wife, Suzanne, of Tuttle and Keith McElroy and his wife, Stephanie, of Yukon; one daughter, Tammy Brown of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Logan, Joshua (J.T.), Meagan, Jordyn, and Jared; two sisters, Sharon Barnes of Bridgecreek and Sheila Veil of Lakeville, Ohio; one brother, Leland McElroy and his wife, Beverly of Oklahoma City; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
