Michael H (Lightfoot) McDonald

Michael H (Lightfoot) McDonald
December 22, 1941 ~ February 8, 2023

When tomorrow ends without me, don't ever think we are far apart. For every time you think of me, I will be right there within your heart. Our hearts were broken on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 with the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and dear friend Michael "Mike" McDonald, 81 of Piedmont, Oklahoma, formerly of Woodward.

Mike was born on December 22, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to Herbet and Itea Lightfoot. She passed away at Parc Place Medical in Oklahoma City. She grew up in the Pitcher/Miami area and moved to Woodward where she graduated from Woodward High School in 1959.

Mike was a people person who could chat up just about anyone and make them laugh. She was also like a mother to many. She loved being around her family and friends. This gave her the most joy, along with gardening, reading her mysteries and riding back roads listening to tunes with those most special to her. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Woodward.

Mike worked diligently to support her children. Her work was important and a source of pride. She retired from the W.R. Grace Plant, later known as Terra.

She married Dick McDonald in Woodward. To this union they welcomed their children, Lisa and Mark. She was later married to Larry Fortenberry for 21 years.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Dauphin of Piedmont; Mark McDonald and wife Stormy of Woodward; devoted fur baby sugar; step children, Shari Doss; Debbie Massey; grandchildren, Allison Davis and husband Preston, Haylee, Hayden and Madison McDonald, Tucker, Asher, and Rhorey Allen; great grandchildren, Ella Cooper, Sylus Vann, and Olivia Davis; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mike was considered a sibling with her McDonald brothers and sisters in law. She is survived by Jack MCDonald of Sharon; Joyce McDonald of Elk City.

She is preceded in death by Johnny and Maxine, Kenny, Curly "Gene", Bill, Sis "Thelma" and Harry, Skeeter "Thelma", Joe and Fairlene, Lovella, and her former husband Dick.

Mike will also be missed by her long life friend Dean Hartzell of San Antonio, Texas.

A memorial service will be held for Michael on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
