 Memorial services for Douglas Wayne McDonald, 71, of Oakwood, OK will be at at the Church of Christ in Seiling, OK on December 30, 2017 at 10:00 am with Ray Hull officiating. Viewing will be held from 12 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Douglas Wayne McDonald was born May 26, 1946 at Yorktown, TX to Louis Howell and Helen Ida (Schoenhenrr) McDonald. He departed this life on December 22, 2017 at Oklahoma City, OK.

Doug grew up in Texas and moved to Oklahoma in 1968. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam from 1965 to 1968. Doug worked in the oilfield for many years and also drove the school bus for Canton Schools and the activity bus to many ballgames. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Seiling. Doug enjoyed preaching at prisons and his home church. A bible could be found in all of Doug's vehicles, as he enjoyed reading God's word.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife; Sharon Kay (Taylor) McDonald, his parents; one sister, Elsie Mae "Blondie" Hilmers; one brother, Alvin Ray "Cooter" McDonald;

Survivors include three children, son Norman Cooley of Oakwood, OK, two daughters, Brenda Reichert and husband David of Canton, OK and Cheryl Rice of Green Ridge, MO; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one brother, Louis Bateman "Buddy" McDonald of San Jose, CA; one sister, Helen Fay "Chubby" Koenig of Victoria, TX; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ in Seiling with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com
