Grace J. (Birdsall) McDaniels

June 28, 1896 ~ Dec 26, 1984

Garber – Services for Grace J. McDaniels, 88, who died Wednesday morning in a Garber nursing home, will be at 10:30 AM Saturday in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milburn Borough officiating.

Burial will be at 2:30 PM Saturday in the Sharon Cemetery at Sharon, Kansas, with the Rev. Robert Turner officiating.

Mrs. McDaniel was born June 28, 1896, in Beaver County, the daughter of Charles and Mary Birdsall. After her marriage to Charles McGuire on December 29, 1915, they made their home in that area until moving to Sharon in 1924. He died in June 1931 and the following month Mrs. McDaniels moved with her children to Garber. She worked as a Secretary in the Garber Creamery and later in the Garber Hardware. She was active in the Garber Rebekah Lodge.

On December 7, 1946, she was married to Elmer McDaniels and they made their home on a farm near Sharon. After his death March 6, 1968, she moved into Sharon and in August 1982 returned to Garber. While in Sharon she was active in the Baptist Church.

Mrs. McDaniels is survived by a son, Charles McGuire, Enid; a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Opal) Hicks of Cleveland; a step son, Dale McDaniels of Sharon; a step daughter, Mrs. Dale (Edith) Warner, Sharon; a brother, Bernard Birdsall of California; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Edith) Pralle of Garber and Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Bogle, Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren and 12 great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two brothers and two sisters.
