Claxton D. McCullough

January 21, 1929 ~ August 27, 2016

Claxton D. McCullough, 87, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died at 9:15 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at The Journey Home at Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Mr. McCullough was born January 21, 1929 at Arma, Kansas the son of Jesse Andrew and Evylena Edwards McCullough. Claxton was a retired engineer for Phillips Petroleum Company for 25 years. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School. He later attended Pittsburg State University and received a degree in engineering.

The family moved to Bartlesville in 1957. He married Clara L. Corpolongo on March 27, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Mrs. McCullough preceded him in death March 31, 2003. He attended St. James Catholic Church and St. John Catholic Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam era serving in the U. S. Army. Survivors include a son, Richard W. McCullough of Milton, Washington, a grandson, Richard Colin McCullough of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a brother, Glen (Billie Sue) McCullough of Nevada, Missouri, and caregiver, Sue Lee of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Mass of Christian Burial will be a 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Frontenac, Kansas with Father Thomas Stroot as the celebrant. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Flag folding graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call 11A.M. to 4 P.M. Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
