Michael Roy McCracken Sr. of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away April 3, 2025. Born March 19, 1946 in Hardtner, Kansas, he was preceded in death by parents Elmer and Ruth McCracken, sisters Merrily Drake and Nancy McCracken, parents in law Glenn and Sarah Cole, sister-in-law Zella Winters, brother and sister-in-law Jewell and Lois McGarry, brother-in-law Jerry Alexander, and daughter-in-law Charla McCracken.
Survivors include wife of 59 years Opal McCracken, son Mike McCracken Jr., son and daughter-in-law Jim and Amanda McCracken, brother Bill McCracken and wife Lela, sister Edith Hada and husband Floyd, sister-in-law Glenda Alexander, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, their significant others, and great- grandchildren.
Mike was a husband and family man first and foremost. Family gatherings and time spent at the card table were his favorite things in later life. Younger pursuits included golf, fishing, live music, camping, boating, and traveling.
Mike retired from Phillips Petroleum after 35 years in 2001 and continued enjoying life in Bartlesville. He especially enjoyed talking with and befriending anyone he encountered in daily life, and if you happened into the McCracken household, food and drink were quickly offered. The loss of Mike will be felt by all friends and family.
