Gregory "Greg" Scott McClard, went home to be with Jesus on March 29, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on March 7, 1973, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he lived a life marked by deep love for his family, unwavering work ethic, and a spirit of adventure that left a lasting impression.
Greg was the beloved son of Michael and Maurita McClard. He built a life and family with Nefiterrie Polomo, the love of his life. He was a devoted father to their son, Joseph McClard, and a proud step father to Zachary and Blake Penman. He is also survived by his seven adult children- Mason, Amanda, Seth, Olivia, Samael, Nadia, and Jacob- each of whom carried a unique and meaningful place in his heart. Greg was a loving brother to Amanda McAuley and her husband Jonathan McAuley, and he treasured their children, Kyara McAuley and Aidan McAuley, as well as Aidan’s family, Alison McAuley and their son, Michael McAuley. He is also survived by his half sister, Michelle Baka.
Greg graduated from Eisenhower Senior High School and later earned an Associate’s Degree from Cameron University. He was a man who valued learning, discipline, and perseverance. His life reflected the steady character of someone who understood the importance of commitment, whether in school, in sports, at work, or in the responsibilities of daily life. He approached each season of life with determination and a willingness to give his best.
His early years were shaped by the values of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, beginning in 1979, and he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1990. Those experiences helped form the foundation of the man he became, teaching him service, leadership, and integrity. Greg also had a remarkable athletic journey. He began wrestling in 1985 and continued through his senior year of high school, demonstrating strength, focus, and resilience. In 1991, he was a member of the Eisenhower National Championship football team, where he played fullback with pride and determination. He carried the lessons of teamwork and perseverance from the field into every part of his life.
Greg built a career at Goodyear Lawton Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder, where he was known for his work ethic and reliability. He understood the dignity of honest labor and took pride in doing his job well. His coworkers and those around him could count on his steady presence and practical wisdom. He was a man whose actions often spoke louder than words, and his example reflected a life of responsibility and endurance.
In the final days of his life, Greg turned his heart toward God and made a personal decision to place his faith in Jesus Christ. He reached out to God and experienced a meaningful moment of surrender. His family finds peace and comfort knowing he placed his trust in the Lord.
He was a passionate, adventurous, and intelligent man who loved collecting from an early age. His mother once found his closet floor covered in rocks, and when asked about them, he replied, “Mommy, this is my rock collection.” That childhood moment became a lifelong pattern, as he continued collecting throughout adulthood. He enjoyed GI Joe action figures, anything associated with the Kansas City Chiefs, Star Wars, and baseball cards. His interests reflected both his curiosity and his loyalty to the things he loved. He also enjoyed Boy Scouts, football, watching his boys develop in their karate skills, and cheering them on in their sports activities. He had a deep love for animals and found great joy in traveling with his family throughout the United States.
Greg will be remembered as a man of strength, loyalty, and heart. He lived with passion and purpose, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and faith. Though his earthly journey has ended, the memory of his life will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in the peace of the Lord, and may his family be comforted by the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
