Melinda Sue (Lambert) McCarter
June 26, 1966 ~ February 18, 2024

Melinda Sue McCarter, age 57, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior with her family by her side on February 18, 2024. Melinda was born on June 26, 1966, to Garland and Omega Lambert in Denison, Texas. She graduated from Dickson High School. She worked as a CNA caring for people on home health and worked as a swamper. She loved God and enjoyed gardening, especially roses. She also enjoyed working out. On April 20th, 2021, she married William McCarter.

She is preceded in death by her father, Garland Lambert.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband William McCarter Jr. of the home, her mother Omega Lambert. Her children Justin Greenwood and Tylar Smith. Her stepchildren William McCarter III, Richard McCarter, and Shanie Faye McCarter. Her brothers Eddie McPherson, Jerry Pool, and sister Wendy Melton. Grandchildren Avery Smith, Tammy Jo Smith, Hunner Smith, William McCarter IV, Lane McCarter, Garred McCarter, Talon McCarter, Hinder McCarter, Brylan McCarter, Ryder McCarter, Carson McCarter, Lennox McCarter, and Addison McCarter. Along with many friends and extended family.

Melinda will be in state on Wednesday, February 21st from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM for people to pay their respects at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the family cemetery. The family and friends will gather at 1:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service to process to the service on that day.
