Bobby Hays McBride, Sr.
April 9, 1944 ~ October 26, 2017

Bobby (Mr. Bob) Hays McBride Sr, a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma and beloved patriarch of the McBride family, passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the age of 73.  He was born on April 9, 1944 to Zebbie Byron and Ida (Meek) McBride in Stockdale, Texas.  Mr. Bob married his life partner of 52 years, Linda Faye, in Bay City, Texas on April 21, 1965. 

Mr. Bob lived an inspiring life with many accomplishments both within his career and as a husband, father, friend and grandfather.  His heart for helping others endeared him to most people he met.  Most notable  career accomplishments, Mr. Bob was a plant manager for an international cryogenic leader, Air Liquide, overseeing operations in Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming, Hawaii, and California.  After retiring, he was obliged to run for Mayor of Lone Star, Texas where he served for several years.  In 2001, Mr. Bob decided to pursue his dream of ranching, which he did successfully until his passing.  Above all, Mr. Bob’s most beloved accomplishment was the relationships he fostered with his kids and grandchildren.

Mr. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Linda.  As well, children Bobby McBride Jr. and wife Dana of Baton Rouge, La, Kimberly Anderson and husband James of Fort Collins, Colorado,  Russell McBride of Holden, Louisiana, Vicky O'Connor and husband Doug of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Lori Wisian Patterson and husband Mike of Cuero, Texas; 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Brandt, Margie Buchanan, Opal Estes, and Ruth Cowey.

Family hour will be from 6:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 31st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.  A service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday November 1st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to C.A.S.A. at
