Benny passed away in Ardmore, OK on January 24, 2019 at the age of 94. Benny was born on January 8, 1925 in Mill Creek, OK to Silas and Bessie Gertrude (Hobson) Maytubby. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a Christian. He married Norma Jean Bratton in Gainesville, TX on June 30, 1952. He served our country as a member of the United States Army. Benny was a guard at Nuremberg Trails and went on to work at the Pentagon for the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Department of Defense from the Truman Administration through the Johnson Administration. Serving as the Mayor of Mill Creek, owning the BullFrog Cafe as well as buying and selling antiques; he loved the town he got to call home. He loved family, finding a great bargain, looking for arrowheads, gardening and the Washington Redskins. Some of his greatest joys were wetting a hook and a big fish fry. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Norma of Ardmore; sons, Gary Maytubby and wife Becky, of Ardmore, Stanley Maytubby and wife Regina, of Gene Autry, OK; grandchildren, Shon Maytubby, Cassandra Carter and husband Kevin, Mike Maytubby and wife Sommer, Carrie Jolley and husband Justin; 11 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
