Helen E. (Shankles) Maynes
July 16, 1929 ~ April 19, 2021 (age 91)

Helen E. Maynes, 91, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 in Shawnee.

She was born July 16, 1929 to Jeff and Ollie (Dobbs) Shankles in Cromwell, Oklahoma.

Helen was raised in Cromwell and attended Cromwell Public Schools. She lived in California for 40 years and in Oklahoma since the mid 90’s.

She was married to Glen Maynes and he preceded her in death.

Helen worked in retail sales and retired from K-Mart at the service desk.

She raised five children by herself. Helen enjoyed dancing, collecting wind chimes and coffee cups; and especially loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Maynes; parents, Jeff and Ollie “Sweet Mama” Shankles; several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Glen and Tena Henson of Meeker, OK, Jeffery and Lili Sackett of Victoria, TX and Mike and Donna Kashola of Camarillo, CA; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Janet and Frank Oliver of Camarillo, CA and Tammy Copeland of Earlsboro, OK; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021 and continue service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Kashola and Aaron Kashola officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
