Donnivee Louise Smith Maynard

March 12, 1938 ~ May 12, 2007

Graveside services for Donnivee Louise Smith Maynard, 69, of Bandon, formerly of Coquille, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, in Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Karen Nelson, of the Pioneer United Methodist Church, officiating.

Donnivee was born March 12, 1938, in Hominy, Okla., the daughter of Joel and Evelyn (Hickman) Smith.

She died May 12, 2007, in Bandon.

The family moved from Oklahoma to Coquille in 1957. They joined the Pioneer United Methodist Church and she became a very active member.

Donnivee loved playing the piano and organ at church. She also loved traveling with her parents and collecting rocks from around the state. Donnivee also loved taking art classes and doing china painting, drawing, sketching and coloring.

Ten years ago she moved to Heritage Place and loved taking part in the outings and the ice cream socials there. She also played the piano for the residents and enjoyed visits from her church family.

Donnivee is survived by her cousins, Alden Smith of Bellingham, Wash., and Rowena Stenis of Austin, Texas, and their families; and longtime friend Christine Zanni of Coquille.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Robin Maynard.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Mail Code: DC105, Portland, OR 97239-3011 or Pacific Home Health Care and Hospice, 1957 Thompson Road, Suite 2A, Coos Bay, OR 97420.

Arrangements are under the direction of Amling/Schroeder Funeral Service Coquille Chapel, 396-3846.
