Billy Jack Mayes Sr.

January 22, 1932 ~ February 25, 2015

No funeral services are scheduled at this time for Southern Oklahoma native Billy Jack Mayes, Sr., 83, who passed away at his Ardmore residence Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

He was born January 22, 1932 at Marietta to the late James Dewitt “Jack” and Sythia May Blackmon Mayes.

Billy Jack and the former Lois Marie Patton were married June 29, 1954 at Gainesville, Texas and were residents of Ardmore. Of Baptist faith, Billy was a truck driver and rancher. A driver for 36 years for Bacon Transport, Ellsworth and several other companies, he had also driven a cattle truck for some years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy Jack Mayes, Jr., and a sister, Marie Curry.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Mayes of the home; two daughters, Donna Nolen and Debbie Smith and her husband, Jerry, all of Ardmore; a son, Ricky Mayes of Jefferson, Texas; grandchildren, Robin and Mike Tull, Tommy and Lucy Smith, Zach Nolen, Kandice Mayes, Rian Gage, Ty Mayes and Miranda and Gelaico Molina, all of Ardmore, Debra and Daniel Smith of North Dakota and Cody and Kaylene Mayes of Missouri; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tony Dirks of Madill, Danica and Dominic Smith of North Dakota, Waylon and Wyatt Mayes of Missouri and Keely and Delaney Smith, Jennifer and Maria Molina and Abigail Howell, all of Ardmore; four sisters, Joyce Allgood, Alyne Kirk, Margaret Hammer and Linda Kerr and a brother, Johnny Mayes.

Cremation-With-Care was under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
