Pittman M. Mauldin

April 21,1929 ~ Feb 26, 2007

Services for Pittman M. Mauldin, 77, of Valley View, Texas, were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 1, in the George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, Texas, with the Rev. Roslyn Eugster officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.

Born April 21, 1929, at Gainesville, the son of Pittman M. And Lou Vainia Vannoy Mauldin Sr., he died Monday, February 26, 2007, at his residence.

A longtime Gainesville resident, Mr. Mauldin was a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 18, 1946 to December 22, 1947. Mr. Mauldin was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mission United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football and camping.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Jerry Rauschuber of Valley View and Angela and Josh Riddle of Achille; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Patti Mauldin and Kelly Mauldin of Thackerville, and Mack and Shonna Mauldin of Quitman, Texas; a brother, Grady Hickman; 13 grandchildren, Rebecca Buess, Chris Mauldin, Rachel Wilson, Courtney Shurbet, T.J. Shurbet, J.R. Robertson, Ashley Robertson, Tyler Mauldin, Elizabeth Zimmerman, Alex Mauldin, Aric Mauldin, Wendy Mauldin and Kristal Mauldin; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Mauldin, Cherish Mauldin, Luke Wilson and Chloe Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Mauldin on October 26, 2003; two sons, Ronald and Marty Mauldin; a grandson, Peter John Eberly; a great-grandson, Caleb Buess; and a brother, Troy Mauldin.

Pallbearers were Chris, Tyler, Alex and Aric Mauldin, T.J. Shurbet and J.R. Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Woods, Ernie Brinkley and J.W. Glenn. George J. Carroll & Son
