Erven Lee Mattox

February 7, 1921 ~ March 3, 2009

Erven Lee Mattox, 88 of Choctaw, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. He was born to George & Bertha Matttox on Feb. 7, 1921 in Sharpsburg, Iowa.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force and he never lost his love for travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 great grandchildren.

Erven is survived by his wife Norma Jean and 7 children: Martha Whitaker, Donna Mira, Mary Kelpine, Marilyn Wilson, Marlene Grayson, Marsha Brewster, and Mark Mattox; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; five brothers, and 2 sisters.

At Erven's request there will be no services, but visitation only at the funeral home from 8 AM to 8 PM on Friday, 3/6/2009. The family will greet friends from 1 PM to 4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or Hospice Quality Care.
