Matt Michael Mathews

August 30, 1973 ~ March 12, 2015

Matt Michael Mathews, 41, of Oklahoma City, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the South East Expo Center west of McAlester with Pittsburg County Sheriff Department Chaplain Jerry Holloway officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.

Born August 30, 1973 in Leesburg, Florida, he was the son of R.V. Mathews and Lana Klingmann Ross and her husband, Craig Ross.

He served his country in the United States Army for 18 years, serving two tours in Iraq and one in Korea. He was ranked a Warrant Officer 3. He was a Medi-Vac helicopter pilot with Eagle Med, LLC.

He attended Front Line Church in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his father: R.V. Mathews; mother: Lana Kingman Ross and husband, Craig; his fiancée: Lisa Lee; a son: Michael Anthony Mathews of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother: R.V. Mathews III of Florida; a sister: Kelley Bolling Thibeault and Stacy of Anderson, South Carolina.

Also, step-brother: Craig Hunter Ross and Jessica of Thornton, Colorado; step-sisters: Tami Aiken and Mike of Deland, Florida, Tiffany King of Orange City, Florida, and Summer Ross of Denver, Colorado; nieces and nephews: Siera, Bryan, Nikki and Austin; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Juanita Klingmann, and an uncle: James Klingmann.
