William Michael "Mike" Martin
January 18, 1961 ~ July 30, 2016

William Michael "Mike" Martin, 55, of Shawnee, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Norman. The son of Robert Marion Martin and Vera Maxine (Davis) Martin, he was born January 18, 1961, in Winfield, Kansas.

Mike worked for General Motors and retired in 2009 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the American Quarter Horse Association. Earlier in his life, Mike owned and raced several horses. He also competed in team penning competitions and placed 3rd in the world in 1998. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed playing pool and golfing. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a cousin, Greg McBride; and his aunt, Rita Joan McBride.

Mike is survived by two daughters, Michelle Meador and husband, Duston, of Texas, and Shelby Mailyn Martin and Matthew Everett Oleson of Prague; two sons, William Michael Johnson and wife, Candace, of Oklahoma City, and Joshua Quaid Martin and fianc�e, Erika Michelle Grammer, of Stroud; five grandchildren, Melody Glass, Ethan Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Payten Oleson, and Gracie Oleson; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 5, 2016, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Graveside service and burial will follow at 4:00 PM at the Maple City Cemetery in Maple City, Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
