Leroy Martin
Sept. 12, 1931 ~ March 9, 2015

Leroy Martin, 83, of Garber, Okla., was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Fairmont, Okla., the son of Ralph Francis and Helen Marie (Culp) Martin. Leroy entered the eternal arms of his Savior, with his wife by his side, on Monday, March 9, 2015, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Okla.

He was a graduate of Garber High School, class of 1950, and attended business college for two years.

Leroy proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Store Keeper during the Korean War.

After serving his country, he came home and married his sweetheart and best friend, Wanda Mae Kearney, on Valentine�s Day, Feb. 14, 1958, at Garber United Methodist Church. Leroy and Wanda owned and operated Martin�s Food Store, located in Garber, from 1979 to 1998. During this time, he also worked with the volunteer fire department in Garber, retiring after 20 years of volunteer service.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, fixing things and visiting with the coffee clan, but most of all, Leroy loved spending time with his loved ones. Leroy will be remembered for his loving smile, kind words and that he could always make you laugh.

Leroy was a former member of Garber Lions Club, a member of American Legion of Enid, Okla. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 80 of Enid as a Master Mason and had received his 50 year pin.

Leroy was a member of Garber United Methodist Church, where he served on several committees.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Garber United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Linda Pope officiating. Interment will be at Garber Cemetery in Garber, Okla. Visitation for Leroy will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, March 11, and Thursday, March 12, at Dugger Funeral Home, 401 Arapaho, Garber, Okla. Service is under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Okla.

Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda of Garber, Okla.; son, Greg Martin and wife Heather of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren, Braden Martin and his fianc�e Amanda Haberman, Madison Martin, Mia Martin, Molly Summers and Emma Summers, all of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one sister, Glenda Gibbons of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Lee Richardson of Oklahoma City; two nieces, Faith Postier and husband Fred of Sherman, Texas, and Renee Dunegan and husband Terry of Dallas, Texas; two great-nieces, Ashley Hotaling and husband Tommy and Lauren Shales, all of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a host friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Helen Martin and sister-in-law, Maxine Richardson.

Memorials may be made to Garber United Methodist Church or the Garber Scholarship Fund in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, 600 W. Country Club Blvd., Elk City, OK 73644.
