Lena Mae (Ford) Martin was born December 16, 1926 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Eureus Jefferson and Cleta Mae (Landers) Ford. She passed away November 26, 2014 in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Because of the Great Depression, Lena's family moved around seeking work. She was called upon at a young age to help care for her younger siblings while both of their parents worked. This built a strong bond which lasted a lifetime. Lenas fondest childhood memories were of living the northwest Arkansas area

Lena married Marvin Laranze Martin on August 7, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas. They lived for a time in Tulare, California where Marvin was stationed in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, they moved with their baby son Marvin Curtis to Oklahoma near Marvins family. Together they farmed southwest of Fairview and added a daughter Judy Carrie.

In 1956 the family moved to southern California. Marvin and Lena welcomed Penny LaFern and Mark Henry to their growing family. Lena supplemented the family income by providing childcare to others in her home.

The Martin family returned to Oklahoma in 1969 and built their home in Longdale. Lena achieved two more milestones in her life by completing her education with a GED and getting her first-ever drivers license. This allowed her to work outside the home, first in Watonga, then as a cook at the Fairview Fellowship Home, and finally as a cook and cafeteria manager at the Longdale school.

Lena attended the Longdale Community Church and was baptized on June 13, 1982 in the Canton Lake.

Marvin Passed away September 1, 1994. Lena continued to live in the home two years before moving to Fairview.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all three younger siblings, E.J. Ford, Mary Catherine Stemmons-Robert, and Billy Don Ford.

She leaves behind to celebrate her life; her children; Marvin Curtis and Macky Martin, Judy Carrie and Ralph Wilson, Penny LaFern and Paul Heath, Mark Henry Martin , 10 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
