Grace Mae "Gracie" Martin

October 13, 1913 ~ January 11, 2004

Funeral services for Grace "Gracie" Mae Martin, 90, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Grace Mae Martin was born October 13, 1913, in Coal County, Eastern Oklahoma. The loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered the kingdom of Heaven on January 11, 2004. She passed peacefully from the Christian Care Retirement Village.

Gracie was a long time resident of Chickasha and was very proud of her Oklahoma heritage. She owned and operated Grace's Truck Stop from 1945 until her retirement in 1984.

She was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maudie Ann and Floyd Martin, Sr., three brothers, Lester Martin, Raymond Martin and Floyd Martin, Jr., two sisters, Rosie Anderson and Pearly Smith.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest L. and Maria Regla Martin, of Norfolk, Virginia; one granddaughter, Marie Brenda Pulver, of Michigan Center, Michigan; two grandsons, Ernest L. Martin, Jr., of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jimmy L. Martin, of Woodward, Oklahoma; one great grandson, Travis L. Martin; and one sister, Billy Jean Rhea, of Fresno, California.

As Gracie requested, after the service, she will be cremated and her ashes scattered among her favorite places.
