Rickey Gene Markel

April 29, 1954 ~ February 14, 2005

1st Sgt. Rickey Gene Markel was born April 29, 1954 in Great Bend, Kansas to Wayne and Shirley (Sadberry) Markel.

Rickey was in the National Guard Reserve has lived in the Tuttle community since 1984. Rickey enjoyed reading and was an avid collector of military memorabilia.

He passed away February 14, 2005 at 50 years of age.

Survivors include his wife Karen of the home in Tuttle; children Nickalaus Wayne Markel and his wife Rebecca, Nicole Ivonna Markel and Phillip Kyle Markel; grandchildren Taya Markel; his parents Wayne and Shirley Markel; brother Sterling and his wife Melissa; sister Malia Rutherford and her husband Thomas; numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Eisenhour Chapel in Blanchard. Pastor Larry Steverson officiated with arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.
