Charles W. "Charlie" Manteufel, Sr.

May 4, 1939 ~ January 4, 2022

The son of Charles Albert Manteufel and Alice Johanna Blum Manteufel, Charlie was born May 4, 1939 in Chicago and grew up in Wisconsin. He later returned to Chicago where he learned his trade as a pipe fitter, welder, and later became an appliance and refrigeration repairman.

After a brief illness, Charlie, 82, passed away at Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Charlie married Beth-Anne Derrick on July 24, 1957 at Eagle River, Wisconsin. The parents of three sons, Charles Jr., Jeffery, and Christopher, and one daughter, Lee-Anne, they were divorced on August 14, 1967.

After moving to Oregon from Illinois (or as he called it, the "Big City"), he met the love of his life, Linda Laverne Sinkey. They were married on December 25, 1977 in Germantown Hills, Illinois and settled into their home in Kerby, Oregon. Charlie and Linda were members of the Kiwanis Club in Kerby and participated in many charitable events to help the community. Charlie's daughter, Lee-Anne uprooted her family and moved from California to Oregon to be closer to him.

Charlie and his wife loved to travel, whether it was by driving cross-country in a recreational vehicle or taking a cruise on the high seas.

For health reasons, Charlie moved to Marietta after his wife, Linda, passed away to live with his son, Charlie Jr. and his wife in 2012.

A devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Charlie is survived by his daughter, Lee-Anne Manzone of Rogue River, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Carrie Manteufel of Marietta; three grandsons and their wives, Travis and Allison Manteufel, Jesse and Darla Manteufel, and Peter and Breanna Manzone; one granddaughter and her fiance, Katrina Manzone and Tyler Crouch; great-grandchildren, Paige Manteufel, Cole Manteufel, Zion Seale, Brennen Horton, Brooke Horton, Cameron Manzone, Chiara Manzone, and Everett Manzone; great-great-granddaughter, Ashley Seale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Beth-Anne Derrick; wife, Linda Laverne Sinkey Manteufel; three sons, Charles Jr., Jeffery, and Christopher Manteufel; and two sisters, Delores Manteufel Teuber and Emily Manteufel Long.

As were his wishes, no services are being held and his cremains returned to Oregon and placed next to his wife.
