Haskell Connor Manners, Jr
July 17, 1939 ~ March 15, 2019

Haskell Connor Manners, Jr., a respected resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved father, grandfather and family member left this life and joined his Savior in Sherman, Texas on Friday March 15th, 2019 at the age of 79. Haskell was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Haskell Connor Manners, Sr. and Flora Lee (Tussey) Manners on July 17th, 1939. He married his beloved Susan Gail Crow in Madill, Oklahoma on March 15th, 1975.

Haskell was a lifelong member of the Durant Community. He was a dedicated public servant who was employed by the City of Durant as it’s Fire Chief. Haskell served in the Oklahoma National Guard for nine years and was a member of the Durant Elks Lodge.

Mr. Manners is survived by his son Jeffrey Shawn Manners of Sulphur, Oklahoma; daughter, Jill Manners-Payne and husband Curtis of Bells, Texas; grandchildren, Connor Manners Payne of Denison, Texas, Canyon Payne, C.J. Payne, Sophia Payne, Olivia Payne, and Elijah Payne all of Bells, Texas; nieces, Regina Hope and Cathy Renfro; nephews, Milton and Wendel Hope.

Mr. Manners was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell and Flora Manners; wife Susan Manners; and sisters, Betty Lou Hope, and Margaret Manners.

A memorial service in honor of his life will be at 10:00 AM Saturday March 23rd at the Community Christian Church in Durant. The honorary pallbearers will be the Durant Fire Department and the Class of 1957.
