Monta M. (Furgason) Maness

October 24, 1916 ~ October 23, 2005

The graveside services for Monta M. Maness, 88 year-old Enid resident will be today, Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in the Memorial Park Garden Chapel. Ray Rose will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Monta was born October 24, 1916 in Byron, OK. to Charles R. and Ina C. (Helt) Furgason and died Sunday, October 23, 2005 in Greenbrier Nursing Home. Her mother died when Monta was a child and she was raised by her grandparents, Robert and Anna Furgason in Burlington, OK. She attended 8 years of school at Burlington Grade School. She attended Amorita High School and graduated in 1934. After graduation she came to Enid and began working at Stearman Aviation as a shipping clerk from 1942-1945.

On December 10, 1942 she married Elmer R. Dusbabek in Enid. He died in 1958. On October 30, 1972 she married Burnie R. Maness. He died October 25, 1979. She provided bookkeeping and tax services from her home. She later worked at Johnny "66" from 1980-1988 and also dedicated 7,592 hours of service as a Foster Grandparent.

She is survived by her son, Alan R. Dusbabek; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, and a daughter, Joyce A. (Dusbabek) Unruh.
