Cecil E. Maness
March 17, 1941 ~ March 6, 2022

Cecil E. Maness, age 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday morning, March 6, 2022, at his home in Trafalgar.

Cecil was born March 17, 1941, in Lyman, Oklahoma, to his parents, the late Marshall and Lola (Nulick) Maness. He was a 1960 graduate of Enid High School in Oklahoma and went on to proudly serve his country as a Private First Class with the United States Army during the Cold War.

Cecil was the owner and operator of Library Movers of America from 1984 until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed traveling with work and meeting different people along the way. Cecil also previously worked as the Tire Manager for Atwoods Ranch & Home in Oklahoma.

Cecil was a former member of the Jaycees and Rotary Club in Oklahoma. He was an avid golfer and held memberships at Tameka Woods, Timbergate and the Pointe at Lake Monroe. Cecil had a negative handicap, was a great scratch golfer and had made 15 holes in one. His love of golf gave him the opportunity to play with Fuzzy Zeller and Gill Morgan. When Cecil wasn't playing golf, he enjoyed watching westerns and cheering for the Indianapolis Colts.

Cecil will be missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Peggy J. (Voris) Maness, whom he married on February 14th, 1991, at the Fairhaven Christian Church in Trafalgar. He also will be missed by his children: Michael Maness and Jason (Kari) Maness, both of Blackwell, OK, Shannon (Eric) Erickson of Conroe, Texas; step-children: Mike (Suzanne Suter) Hodge of Trafalgar, Amanda (Robert) Ralph of Brunswick, GA; siblings: Rosemary Hamilton and M. Lynn Maness, both of Enid, OK, and Harvey Maness of Ames, OK; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street, in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery, with military rites presented by the United States Army and the Brown County Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be sent in memory of Cecil to Wounded Warrior Project: P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, KS 66675.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.meredith-clark.com.
