Barbara Jean Maddox

June 25, 1929 ~ June 30, 2006

Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., on Friday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m. for Barbara Jean Maddox. 77. Rev. Tim Grays will officiate.

Barbara was born on June 25, 1929, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Dave Henderson and Mary Jones.

She moved to Bakersfield, CA as a young woman.

Barbara accepted Christ as an early age and united with St. John's Missionary Baptist Church when she moved to Bakersfield.

Barbara retired from the Kern County Welfare Department.

Barbara's life came to an end on June 20, 2006 at San Joaquin Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Michael Brown of Bakersfield; granddaughter Aderez Brown, sister Marguerie Jones; sister-in-law Merlene Jones; special nephew Ronnie Scott, all of Bakersfield and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation begins Thursday, 5-9 p.m.
