Christopher "Chris" Mackey
June 10, 1950 - May 12, 2005

Christopher "Chris" Mackey, Ponca City resident, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center. He was 54 years of age. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Community Christian Church with the Rev. Diane Stein officiating. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.

Chris was born on June 10, 1950 in Ponca City to Gilbert and Georgia (Lawson) Mackey. He attended schools in Ponca City and attended Vo-Tech, studying carpentry. He worked for Boise Cassade Lumber Yard and Daak Packing Company before working in various janitorial positions, including Conoco and the police station. Chris attended Community Christian Church, where he was baptized. He enjoyed music and fishing and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Family members include his daughter, Jennifer Mackey; his mother, Georgia Mackey; one grandson, Hunter Mackey, all of Ponca City; his brother Gilbert Mackey and his wife Cathie of New Mexico; one uncle, Robert Mackey of Ponca City; one great-uncle, Lyman Cox and his wife Thelma of Denver and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mabel Lawson, Blanche and Gilbert Mackey, Sr. and his father, Gilbert Mackey, Jr.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Christian Church, Disciples of Christ 2109 W. Grand, Ponca City, OK 74601.
