Amy Jo (Dixon) Lyon
September 24, 1971 ~ August 13, 2022

Amy Jo Lyon, 50 year old former Woodward resident and current Canton resident passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Moose Lodge in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Amy Jo (Dixon) Lyon was born September 24, 1971 to Eugene and Jo Ann (Devous) Dixon in Mooreland, Oklahoma. Amy Jo grew up in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School. She attended Woodward Beauty College in 1991.

Amy Jo was blessed with the birth of her daughter Taylor Suzann. Amy Jo started work at A Cut Above in 1993. She met Earl Jr Hunt and they were married in 1995. They were blessed with the birth of their son Chandler Eugene. Amy Jo continued to work as a hairstylist until she retired in 2009. She was united in marriage to Joe Lyon on December 14, 2009 in Wichita Falls. The couple then made their home in Beebe, Arkansas before settling in Canton, Oklahoma.

Amy Jo enjoyed going to the casino, gardening and playing softball in her younger days. She loved spending time with grandkids and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband Joe Lyon, mother Jo Ann Dixon, children Taylor Suzann Nielsen and husband Adam, Chandler Eugene Hunt and Ali Lyon, brother Mark Dixon and wife Denise, two grandchildren Knox Kirby and Kennedy Jo Nielsen, numerous nieces, nephews and greats. Her two dogs, Mowgli and Samantha and many other relatives and good friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Lester and Marquita Devous, Clifford and Eileen Dixon, dad Eugene Dixon, sister Julie Dixon.
