The services for Rex David Lukenbaugh, 86-year-old Enid resident, are pending under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Rex David Lukenbaugh
August 3, 1935 ~ May 30, 2022

The celebration of life for Rex D. Lukenbaugh will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Central Christian Church Chapel. Rev. Tom Stanley will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Rex was born August 3, 1935, in Enid to Lloyd and Letha (Lovell) Lukenbaugh and died Monday, May 30, 2022.

He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High with the class of 1953. While in High School he excelled in basketball and baseball. He then attended Tonkawa Junior College. He also was a Sergeant in the National Guard.

He began his career with Union Equity as a Rail Fleet Manager, where he stayed for 35 years. He was a long-time member of Central Christian Church where he was a member of the Sooner Sunday School Class.

He was an avid tennis, golf, and running enthusiast and remained active. He was a huge O.U. Fan.

He is survived by his children, Ron Lukenbaugh and wife Janet and Cheryl Holmes and husband Brent; grandchildren, Tanner Holmes and wife Kailee, Blake Holmes, Jeromy Lukenbaugh and wife Bonnie, Matthew Lukenbaugh and wife Amber, Tim Lukenbaugh and wife Stephanie, Jennifer Holeman and husband Chad, Katie Lentz and husband Curtis, Debbie Lukenbaugh, Tyler Wedel and wife Elizabeth, and Matthew Wedel; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Arnold and husband Brian; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bob, Glen, Jack, and Dean; and one sister, Doris Klemme.

Memorial donations may be made through Henninger-Hinson to Central Christian Church.
