Lera Lue "Gran-Gran" (Nixon) Love
July 8, 1940 ~ January 6, 2026

Lue Love, also known as “Gran-Gran”, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Denison, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on July 8, 1940, in Anna, Texas, to Alton and Lydia Nixon.

Lue attended and graduated from McKinney High School where she was a cheerleader. She married Ronald Lewis Love on September 18, 1959, and they moved to Bryan County in 1980 from McKinney, Texas. Lue was retired but worked at Choctaw Daycare for several years. She mainly was a stay-at-home mother and wife, which she greatly enjoyed and was proud of. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lamesa, Texas. Lue enjoyed gardening, cooking, working in her flower bed, watching her hummingbirds on her patio, watching football and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Lue is preceded in death by her parents; Alton and Lydia Nixon, husband; Ronald Love, son; Nickey Love, sisters; Identical twin Sue Nixon, Joy Nixon, Barbara Estep, Polly Morton, Dottie Douglas, and Sherry Crigger, and brothers; R.A. Nixon and W.L. Nixon.

Lue is survived by her sons; Danny Love and Timmy Love both of Durant, Oklahoma, granddaughters; Amber, Amanda, Amy, Sara, Tasha, Brooke, Kourtney, and Tiffany, grandsons; Dillon, Mason, Nickey Jr., William, and Jerry great-grandchildren; Olivia, Claire, Lucas, Everly, Ryker, and Tiera, nieces; Sherry, Gayla, and Joy, and nephew; Troy, along with numerous friends and family.

A celebration of Lue’s life will be held at the family home on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The family asks that flower arrangements be sent to the address 140 Hickory Drive Durant, OK 74701.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Services.
