Today we celebrate the life of Keith Eugene Louthan, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, businessman, pastor, mentor, and friend. While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we are grateful for the remarkable life he lived and the lasting impact he made on so many.
Keith was born on February 28, 1936, in Chester, Ok to Virgil and Ruby Louthan. He spent his early years in Chester before attending high school in Seiling, Ok, where he graduated with the Class of 1954. During those years he played football, but perhaps the most important thing that happened in high school was meeting the love of his life, Marylynn Starr Power.
On November 11, 1956, Keith and Marylynn were married, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and family. Together they built a beautiful life and raised four children: Skip, Helen, Kerry, and Kirk. Their family continued to grow into 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren—a legacy that will continue for generations.
With honor, courage, and commitment, Keith proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran. He rarely sought recognition for his service, but it was one of the many ways he demonstrated his willingness to put others before himself.
His faith was the cornerstone of everything he did. As a graduate of Rhema Bible College, Keith answered God’s call to ministry. He and Marylynn founded Faith Christian Fellowship in Elk City and the two of them were among the founding members of Faith Bible Church in Prague. Through their preaching, leadership, and unwavering faith, they touched countless lives and pointed many people toward hope in Christ.
Keith also had a remarkable work ethic. He founded Telephone Services Inc. and later retired from the McLoud Telephone Company. Whether in business, ministry, or everyday life, he believed in doing things with integrity and giving his very best.
Outside of work and ministry, Keith embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a passion for motorcycles and was a devoted member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, where he combined his love of riding with sharing his faith. He also loved the game of golf, competing in tournaments throughout his life and enjoying the friendships the sport brought him.
Keith was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marylynn Louthan; his parents, Virgil and Ruby Louthan; his brother Macky Louthan and sister Evelyn Davis; and grandson Grant Watts.
He is survived by his brother, Nolan Louthan and his wife Janice; his four children, Skip, Helen, Kerry, and Kirk; his 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great -grandchildren; and a host of family members and friends who were blessed to know him.
Keith passed away on June 26, 2026, but the legacy he leaves behind cannot be measured by dates alone. It lives on in the family he cherished, the churches he helped build, the lives he influenced through his ministry, the friendships he formed, and the faith he lived every day.
As we say goodbye today, we are reminded that for those who trust in Christ, death is not the end—it is the beginning of eternal life. While we grieve because we will miss him deeply, we also rejoice knowing that Keith has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
May we honor his memory by living with the same faith, integrity, compassion, and love that he demonstrated throughout his ninety years.
Keith Eugene Louthan will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
