Darrel Lee Little

September 5, 1934 ~ March 5, 2018

SGT Darrel Lee Little, also known as "Mouse Little", 83 years old, of Nowata, Oklahoma, was escorted by angels to his final resting place on March 5, 2018. SGT Little was born in Delaware, Oklahoma to William and Ida Mae Little on September 5,1934. He attended school in Delaware, Oklahoma. With great honor and pride, he served in the United States Army from 1954-1964. After serving in the Army, Darrel retired from GTE. 

He was preceded in death by his father William (Willie) Little, his mother Ida Mae Little, his first wife Karol Kay Little, and his infant son Jay Lee Little. He was also preceded in death by his sister Dora Mae Little, Edna Mae Carpenter, brother Bill (J.R.) Little. He was married to Karol Kay Little for 33 years. They enjoyed going to softball games and camping with their two daughters Sheryl and Barbie. 

He is survived by his wife Joy Lee Little of the home in Nowata, Oklahoma. Darrel and Joy loved spending time hunting and fishing. The two of them have 7 children. Sheryl Flake and her late husband Robert Flake of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Barbie Engert and her husband Donovan Engert of Nowata, Oklahoma, Lisa Gilliland of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Angela Gilliland of Nowata, Oklahoma, Audrey Torres and her husband Raymond Torres of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Heath Gilliland of Nowata, Oklahoma, Jodi Johnson and her husband Michael Johnson of Fort Meade, Maryland. He is survived by 16 grandchildren; Jake Flake, Logan Flake, Donovan Engert Jr, Josh Engert, Kaylee Partain, Darren Gilliland, Paige Gilliland, Melissa King, Mark King, Andrew King, Heath Michael Gilliland, Halley Benton, Jordan Gilliland, Jadan Gilliland, Jalan Gilliland, and Ciera Gilliland. He also has 8 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Make It Count Foundation in honor of Darrel's memory. Donations may be made on the website: www.MakeItCountToday.org or by mailing a check to the foundation at: 119 N Parker #175, Olathe, KS 66061.

Memorial Services will be held for Mr. Little at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hillside Christian Church with Rev. Ben Killion officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.
