Sherilynn "Cherrie" (Ingalls) Lipsett
June 02, 1948 ~ October 28, 2017

Celebration of Life Service for Sherilynn "Cherrie" Lipsett, 69, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Russell officiating. 

Sherilynn was born June 2, 1948, in Ardmore, OK, to John B. and Mary L. Ingalls, and passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Enid.

She attended school in Puerto Rico and Ardmore, where she graduated from high school. 

She earned her degree in Agriculture Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1973. 

While attending college, she married James Weidman and they had two children, Lisa and James. 

Sherilynn lived in Huntington, W. VA from 1973-1978, and in Tulsa from 1978-1986. 

During this time, she was married to Wilburn "Will" N. Lipsett. They moved to Enid in 1986, when her husband was transferred for his job.

Sherilynn was an exceptional athlete, and loved to play tennis. She had many hobbies during her life. She raised, bred, and showed silver Persian cats, and Arabian horses. 

She loved to write and was a member of the writer's club as well as having some of her writings published in various magazines and newspapers. She was a member of the Garfield Democratic Women. 

She enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching the birds. She loved learning and read books and studied everything she was interested in.

Sherilynn took courses at Tulsa Junior College while living in Tulsa and had enough hours to earn a degree in history. She also attended courses at NOC in psychology and sociology.

She followed national politics and world affairs. She enjoyed keeping up with the stock market, taking courses to learn how to trade her own stocks on line with success.

She is survived by her children, Lisa D. Baldwin of Dallas, TX, and James E. Weidman II and his wife April of Enid. 

She is also survived by one sister, Clarise Lee of Ardmore, OK. Three grandchildren, Evan, Emily and Erika.

Sherilynn's family would like to thank Greenbrier Nursing Home and especially her caregivers, Anita, Sonya, Mary Kay, Stephanie, and Janie for their excellent care of our loved one.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division, with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
