Charla Ann (Dupps) Lindsay

Charla Ann Lindsay, 75, of Hollis, Oklahoma formerly of Verona, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home.

Charla was born February 20, 1942 in Salida, Colorado to L. Charles and Opal Carrie (Stum) Dupps. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, but has lived in numerous places, which include Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia, Colorado, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and finally in Oklahoma.

Charla served her country by joining the Navy. She married the love of her life Aubrey LeRoy Lindsay on September 18, 1975 in Utah. After over thirty years of marriage Aubrey passed away in March 2006.

Charla had worked for the US Postal Service and as a Vet Assistant. She was a member of the ASPCA. She loved animals, loved to read, cared deeply about ASPCA, and supported her fellow vets.

Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Lindsay; and her parents, L. Charles and Opal Carrie Dupps.

Charla is survived by her daughter, Charmain Lindsay Black and husband Timothy Lee of Millboro, VA; two grandchildren, Nathan Lee Black and wife Lauren of Harrisonburg, VA, and Aubrey Jackson Black and special friend, Jessica Ryder of Millboro, VA; one great grandchild, Jett Everett Black of Harrisonburg, VA; two sisters, Nancy Colglazier of Pueblo CO and Carol Jean Schoenbeck of Grand Jet, CO; three nieces, Terri Garnett, Cindy Gradishar, and Cassie Keller; and numerous friends, including Rita Chance, Darrell & Mona Reagan, and Walt Tomlinson.

The family will have a private Memorial Service at a later date. Cremation Services have been entrusted to the care of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis, Oklahoma.
