Burnie Floyd Lindley Jr.
January 7, 1937 ~ July 7, 2017

Burnie Floyd Lindley Jr., a beloved husband, father, uncle, and resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 80 years. He was born in Brown, Oklahoma to Burnie Floyd Sr. and Ola Mae (Carter) Lindley on January 7, 1937. Burnie married his sweetheart Marilyn Kay Dawson on February 23, 1963 in Durant, Oklahoma. 

Burnie served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of the 1st Methodist Church in Durant, and the Elks lodge for about 45 years. He graduated from Cobb High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. Burnie taught at the Durant Schools for about 12 years. Prior to working at the school, he worked as a general contractor. He was a master carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He enjoyed woodworking, old cars, gardening, and dogs and cats. 

Mr. Lindley is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lindley of the home; son, Michael Lindley and wife Lisa of Lewisville, Texas; grand dogs, Missy and Buddy; brother, Jackie Lindley Sr. of Durant, Oklahoma; nieces & nephews, Terrie Johnson and husband Mike of Durant, Oklahoma, Tracie Lindley of Durant, Oklahoma, Tamara Lindley of Durant, Oklahoma, Tanya Lindley of Durant, Oklahoma; and great-nieces & nephews, Ashley, Devin, Courtney, Hunter and Kaylee. 

Mr. Lindley was preceded in death by his parents, Burnie Floyd Sr. and Ola Mae Lindley; beloved daughter, Lisa Dawn Lindley; nephew, Jackie Lindley Jr.; sister-in-law, Wanda Lindley;  and grand dog Rusty. 

A Memorial/Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Lindley, Doug Flowers, Hunter Lindley, James Dancer, Mike Johnson, and Tracie Lindley.
