Jimmie Gordon Lightfoot

Memorial Services for Jimmie G. Lightfoot, 83, of Tishomingo will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Carpenter officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Mr. Lightfoot passed away on Tuesday, October 27th, at the Mercy Memorial Health Center in Oklahoma City.

Jimmie was born on July 3, 1926 in Durant, Oklahoma to victor F. Lightfoot and Dimple Miller Lightfoot. He attended school in Durant and the family moved to Tishomingo in 1945.

Jimmie served in the United States Army during WWII and after his discharge, returned to Tishomingo. He graduated from Murray State College and then moved to Norman, Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma University. He graduated from OU with a degree in Geology. Jimmie worked for many years as a Geological Engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmie is survived by his sister, Nancy Lightfoot Watson of Las Cruces, New Mexico and other relatives
