Sherrie Von Lewis

December 1, 1938 ~ August 24, 2019

Sherrie Von Lewis, 80, of Kiowa, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 24, 2019, at Kiowa Manor in Kiowa, where she resided for the last six years.

She was born on December 1, 1938, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to Granville H. and Virgie Mae (Merideth) Lewis. Sherrie was raised in Corwin, Kansas, and lived at the City Service Natural Gas Plant, where her father was employed.

She graduated from Hazelton High School. In high school she was a member of Corwin Presbyterian Church and was active in the Presbyterian Youth Program of Kansas. She then attended Kansas State University.

She dedicated her life to serving her family and her Lord. Her heart was as full of love and she touched everyone’s lives whom she met.

She is survived by sister Barbara (Don) Lewis Lonker (of Medicine Lodge); sister-in-law Judi Lewis (of Emporia, Kansas); nieces Elizabeth (Brad) Lonker Forsyth (of Medicine Lodge), Andrea (John) Lonker Fisher (of Medicine Lodge), and Summer (Brandon) Lewis Henry (of Mission Hills, Kansas); nephews Clint (Tammy) Lonker (of Medicine Lodge), Brent (Serena) Lonker (of Fresno, California), and Jason (Lindsay) Lewis (of Denver, Colorado); 20 great-nieces and -nephews and ten great-great-nieces and -nephews. She will also be missed by cousins to whom she was very close.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James H Lewis; and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kiowa Manor in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Online condolences may be made at http://www.larrisonmortuary.com.
