Ardmore, OK — ARDMORE — Kenneth Ray Lewis, 66, passed away in Oklahoma City, Okla., Thursday, September 5, 2013. Service will be at a later date. Cremation services under direction of Griffin-Hillcrest Crematory, Ardmore, Okla.

Ken was born November 25, 1946, in Enid, Okla., to Gordon Raymond Lewis and Evelyn Joyce (Goodpasture) Lewis. He left Enid in 1963 and graduated from Tucson High School in Tucson, Arizona, in 1965. He worked for the postal service as a letter carrier before he purchased a Taco Bell in Yuma, Arizona, while at the same time owning a fine men’s wear shop. He moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he owned an ice cream factory.

He married Paula Daniel December 20, 1980, at Enid, Okla.

In 1988, he and Paula owned Lonnie’s restaurant in Show Low, Arizona. They sold it in 1990, and Ken earned his certification in respiratory therapy at Apollo College in Mesa, Arizona. He worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital until a better opportunity with Elliot’s Large and Tall in Phoenix appeared, and the couple moved to Tucson. He started L&L Direct Marketing LLC in Tucson in 1994 until they relocated to Ardmore in order to be nearer Paula’s family in 2010. Ken worked for Brad Fenton Toyota as a salesman and then at Griffin-Hillcrest as a pre-need counselor until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ken was survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; daughter, Sellie Unger, of Yuma, Arizona; two grandchildren, Noah Anthony Unger and Ashley Jordan Unger; and cousins, Leon Lewis and wife, Gabriele, of Oklahoma City and Darlene Reinhardt and husband, Eldon, of Enid, Okla.
