Roger Dale Lentz

Roger Dale Lentz
June 28, 1954 ~ June 2, 2026

Roger Dale Lentz, 71, passed away on June 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roger was born on June 28, 1954, in Pawnee, OK to Jacob "Tom" Lentz and Secene Merriman Lentz. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1972 and married Rebecca Soutee in January 1975. Roger then became the proud father of two children - Jeffrey and Jamie. Roger spent most of his life doing what he loved most—farming and ranching. He also spent several years working in the oil fields. He was a good man whose dedication to the land reflected his strong character, perseverance, and deep appreciation for a simple, honest, country way of life.

Roger was known for his warm personality and generous spirit. He loved to laugh, dance, and tell stories, often bringing smiles to those around him. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or enjoying time with family and friends, Roger left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Evan Lentz of Pawnee, Oklahoma; his daughter, Jamie Rebecca Lentz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his brother, Tommy Lentz of Pasco, Washington. He is also survived by a multitude of other family members and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Secene Lentz, and by his brother, Marvin Lasater Lentz.

A memorial service celebrating Roger's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

In honor of Roger's love of dancing and bringing people together, family and friends are invited to attend a dance dedicated in his memory at 7:00 p.m. that evening at the Eagles Lodge in Stillwater, Oklahoma. All who knew and loved Roger are welcome to join in celebrating a life filled with laughter, stories, friendship, and joy.

Roger's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he cultivated, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and storytelling. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him
