On March 20, 2025, Leonard Joel Lawson, a loving dad and resident of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 66. Born on November 13, 1958, in Fullerton, California, Leonard was the son of Marie Butler.
Leonard cherished his time with his sons and was an avid football fan, particularly of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed NASCAR and excelled in the video game called War Thunder, consistently ranking first in his competitions.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Mary Lawson of Nowata; his sons, Kurtis Lawson of Nowata and his son Arthur Lawson of Skiatook, Aaron Cole of Nowata, Tyson Cole and his wife, Lilly; and their sons, Holden Billbe and Kade Panther of Nowata. He is also survived by his three sisters, Sherry Schmidt, Susan Lewis “Lawson,” Lisa Fhere and multiple nieces and nephews.
Leonard is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Butler; his son, Dalton Lawson; his brother, Fred Lawson; his sister, Charlene Jefferies “Lawson”; his grandson, Hunter Billbe. His passing leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt.
