Ricky Lynn Laster

Ricky L. Laster
May 9, 1957 ~  January 5, 2016

Ricky L. Laster was born May 9, 1957 in Dumas, Texas to Bernice and Edwin Laster. He passed away January 5, 2016 at Erick, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Ricky grew up with his family moving all over the United States while his father worked on the pipeline. In 1966, they settled in Erick where he graduated from high school in 1976. After graduation, he began working as a roughneck and a oil field truck driver until 1997 when he went to work for Joe Post as a pumper. He was married to Darla Renea (Terrell) Laster at Wheeler, Texas on October 31, 1997. Together they remained in the Erick area and Ricky continued as a pumper until he obtained employment with Chesapeake 2002. Ricky was with Chesapeake until just recently when he began wanting to put in an arcade for children in Erick. Ricky loved children and enjoyed fishing, camping and mechanicing but his passion in life was aggravating his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Darla, of the home; 4 children, Ricky Laster and wife, Kim, Erick, OK, Jessie Laster and wife, Angela, Erick, OK, William Laster and wife, Monica, Erick, OK and Paula Laster, Missouri; 3 step children, Wendy Lynn Briggs, Tuscon, AZ, Barbie Horstkoetter and husband, Mitch, Erick, OK and Darren Terrell and wife, Karrlinda, Erick, OK; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Jackie Folk and husband, Danny, Texas and Deb Hobbs and husband, Lionel, Ft. Cobb, OK; 1 brother, Mike Laster and wife, Suzanne, Oklahoma City, OK and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Texola Baptist Church officiated by Brother Charlie Floyd. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com.
