Betty Carolyn (Haynes) Lang

June 1, 1935 ~ Aug. 18, 2004

Betty Carolyn Haynes Lang, 69, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. James E. Garrett, senior pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Lang was born June 1, 1935, in Frederick, Okla., to Lester Haynes and Zeta Mae Wolfe Haynes. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1953 and attended North Texas State University and Midwestern State University.

She served as a volunteer at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital from 1996 to 2004.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Haynes.

Survivors include her husband, W.W. "Sonny" Lang; two sons, Brett Lang and wife, Stephanie, and Brad Lang and wife, Tonda, all of Graham; a daughter, Melinda Henderson of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Ty and Charity Lang, Ryan and Brandon Henderson and Braden Lang; and a great-grandchild, Allysa Jane Henderson.

The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church Television Ministry Fund, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101 or to Red River New Mexico Community House, P.O. Box 1020, Red River, NM 87558.
