Lula Nadine (George) Lane

Lula Nadine (George) Lane
September 21, 1932 ~ August 25, 2021 (age 88)

Lula Nadine Lane passed from this life on Wednesday morning, August 25, 2021, in Wheeler, TX, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 4 days. Nadine was born in Durham, OK, to her parents Frank and Virgie (Montgomery) George September 21, 1932.

Nadine married Leon Alvin Lane December 30, 1950, in Cheyenne, OK. She and Leon owned and operated the local grocery store and café for many years. People were known to drive many miles just to set and eat one of Nadine’s homemade hamburgers. She loved serving her family on Sunday afternoons after church with a wonderful homemade dinner for all to share. Nadine was a loyal and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Allison. She loved playing games. Many hours were spent around the kitchen table enjoying her family and friends. She was Granny Lane to everyone who knew and loved her, whether they were family or not. Nadine was a true caretaker and loved her family dearly. Her greatest enjoyment in life was singing and loving her family.

Although Nadine is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include her children: Linda (David) Gilmer of Wheeler, TX, Jim Gilmer of Sayre, OK, DeWayne (Kathy) Lane of Wheeler, TX, Alan (Sheryl) Lane of Allison, TX, Frank (Tracy) Lane of Hammon, OK, Kathy (Hector) Badillo of Moore, OK, Lee Lane of Lubbock, TX, Teena (Ricky) Robinson of Allison, TX; 1 sister: Frankie (Russ) Gambrel; brother-in-law Boog Elliott; sister-in-law Beatrice George; 40 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, good friends, and church family.
